In this blog, I will be creating multiple quick sketches of the human body, anatomy, costumes, etc. The class that this is for is called Cafe Sketch at the Columbus College of Art and Design; feel free to browse and comment at your leisure!

"In class #12"
I went to the Renaissance hotel lobby for this particular assignment; a lot of interesting people and poses were there (and alot of cellphones).
You picked a really unique location for this student choice. I think you did a really good job not only getting some key poses, but really nailing down the clothing.
Jordan, All of these choices are good and the overall pose is pretty strong in each of these. I would suggest a couple things: First, please try to be more conscious of fitting the entire form onto the page. If it means putting one drawing per page, then do it. Cropping feet off doesn't help a walking character's gesture. Second, try to push the line weight variety even more - the contours here get a little too uniform. Make conscious choices about where you put those darker lines, too... overlap, shadow side, where weight is placed.

ReplyDeleteI really think your poses are varied and great! Keep up the good work.
