"In class" #7

For this assignment we were once again allowed to draw where we wanted. I decided to just go to the CCAD Crane commons.

  1. The weight shift on the girl walking next to the guy is great, she seems to really bounce. He on the other hand is kind of awkward, but that can probably be contributed to the strangeness of drawing face on walking. Keeping to a slight angle is probably for the best.

  2. I like the variety of the sketches. Maybe next time you can try to find more poses of people interacting with each other.

  3. Jordan,
Overall, the contours of these are getting a little overwrought. While all of them have good proportion and a decent sense of forward motion, 3 of the 4 are either from the back or profile.
That bottom drawing on the right holds my interest the most.
There is great overlap, the form turned at 3/4, a subject in the middle ground with the head cocked back and to the side, looking into the background. The lower body of the foreground subject is slightly difficult to read (the line weight is too uniform and closed) - but there' a lot going on that I like in this drawing. Look here for that type of dynamic composition and posing in your future work.
