In this blog, I will be creating multiple quick sketches of the human body, anatomy, costumes, etc. The class that this is for is called Cafe Sketch at the Columbus College of Art and Design; feel free to browse and comment at your leisure!

"In class #5"
Today we went to the Columbus Commons, it was a bit slow, but I was able to get a few people doing some interesting stuff!
Jordan, While these drawings look good, the poses are overall pretty static. Please don't wait for the action to be dropped into your lap from your vantage point move around and find it. If you turned around, there were people milling about, preparing to board buses, being handed literature, engaged in conversations, and impatient children were bugging their parents. Think about the verb of what you are looking for - not just a good setting and character. I know you can draw the figure well - but look at all of these poses - pretty immobile. Would more dynamic poses be when a person is about to sit down - ready to pick up a giant chess piece - dismount a carousel horse ? We are drawing actions in this class - as long as you go into a drawing session with that outlook, you will always find interesting things to draw.
