"In class" #1

Our class went to the "North Market" located in Downtown Columbus where we observed and drew the many different things each person was doing; these four pictures are only a few of what I had drawn after a three hour time-span.

  1. First off, I really like how neatly your presented the figures, and the captions are a nice way to solidify them. I thought it was fun. Your figures are really in depth and seemed more finished than a lot of other peoples. I think you have a knack for getting the pose and then finishing the drawings. With that, maybe add some facial features just to distinguish between everyone?

  2. Jordan,
Overall, great work. While I appreciate the presentation, you don't need to offer written descriptions.
Think of it this way - If I can't tell what's going on in the drawing, you haven't succeeded in capturing the gesture, anyway.

("Show Me, Don't Tell Me," which should be the motto of Storyboarding)

    - However, in this case, the forms are strong, your line variety is developed with the correct sensitivity, and I can easily tell what these subjects are doing.
What I really like is that you have incorporated the surroundings in a vignetted style around the subject, and you've addressed the hair and face and hands. Please continue this. It doesn't have to be rendered or highly detailed - just an indication.

In the future, try to find more variety in the gender and body types in your subjects.

    Great work !

  3. The proportions look good, and I like how settings were included to clarify the poses.
